Christopher A. Cardillo is a partner in the Buffalo law firm of Damon Morey LLP, where he works primarily with corporate and business clients on complex construction and commercial litigation involving a variety of business disputes and has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts.
For over a decade, Mr. Cardillo has filed hundreds of public and private mechanic’s liens each year in each of New York’s 62 Counties and with most of New York’s public entities. Mr. Cardillo’s practice also includes frequent filing of bond claims, and the foreclosure of mechanic’s liens and actions to enforce bond claims.
Mr. Cardillo is also involved in the litigation of numerous Article 3-A trust fund diversion actions throughout the State of New York.
A frequent lecturer, some of Mr. Cardillo’s more recent presentations addressed: (a) for the New York State Bar Association: “Construction Work Site and Accident Litigation” (Buffalo); for the Erie County Bar Association: “A New Year’s Resolution for Getting Paid and Collecting Fees”; (c) for the National Business Institute: “Resolving Problems and Disputes on Construction Projects in New York” (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse), “Mechanic’s Lien Law and Strategies in New York” (Buffalo, Rochester), “New York Construction Defect and Mold Litigation” (Buffalo), “Superior Deposition Strategies in new York Civil Trial Practice”, (Buffalo); (d) for Lorman Education Services: “Construction Issues in New York”, “Construction Lien Law in New York”.
He served as District Counsel to New York State Senator Mary Lou Rath (20022005) and as an adjunct faculty member at D’Youville College where he taught business law 1 and 2 (1999-2004). He is a member of the American Bar Association (Construction and Fidelity and Surety Sections), the New York State Bar Association (Construction and Commercial Litigation Sections) and the Erie County Bar Association (Commercial Litigation Section). He is also a member of the firm’s Client Development Committee.
