Mr. Gormley is a Senior Partner at Damon Morey LLP, one of the largest law firms in Western New York. He has practiced at the Firm since 1979.
His practice within the Firm’s Health Care Practice Group includes the representation of tertiary care and community hospitals, behavioral health clinics, diagnostic and treatment centers, medical and hospital associations, physician groups and a variety of voluntary agencies and individual providers, on matters involving affiliations and networks, antitrust compliance, contract analysis and negotiations, corporate governance, corporate transactions, diagnostic and treatment center development and funding, managed care, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement compliance and investigations, medical staff governance, mergers, not-for-profit corporate matters, professional medical conduct disputes, regulatory compliance, tax exempt compliance and related matters (including litigation and administrative proceedings). He has created IPA/messenger model networks for hospitals, outpatient providers and medical associations, merged hospitals and other providers, and has advised providers on network development, risk assumption, clinical integration and related antitrust issues. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Western New York Healthcare Association.
His practice within the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Practice Group includes the representation of industrial and manufacturing companies, distributors, general contractors, financial institutions, and consulting firms on a wide variety of business-related matters, including administrative and regulatory proceedings, business development, business litigation, choice of entity, construction law, contract and lease analysis and negotiations, corporate transactions, regulatory and antitrust compliance, and succession and tax matters for closely held corporations. He is currently listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America© for Corporate Law by Woodward White.
He received his law degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York in 1979, where he was a member of the editorial staff of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law Review. While attending law school, he taught legal research and writing during his junior and senior years.
