In addition to being Damon & Morey's
Managing Partner, Mr. Marlette is a Senior Partner in the firm's
Litigation Department where he concentrates his practice on the
representation of corporations and individuals in high exposure civil
and commercial litigation. He devotes a substantial portion of his
practice to the defense of products liability,
toxic substance, personal injury, sports
and recreation liability and trucking litigation. He is also actively
involved in the defense of professional liability and property damage
claims.
A graduate of Dartmouth College and Georgetown University Law Center,
Mr. Marlette’s professional memberships include the Bar Association of
Erie County, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar
Association, and the Erie County Trial Lawyers Association. He is a
member of both the New York State Bar Association’s Insurance,
Negligence and Compensation and the Trial Practice Committees.
Additionally, he is the firm liaison for
ALFA International, the
oldest and largest network of independent American and international law
firms.
Mr. Marlette is active in a number of charitable and civic
organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the
Kaleida Health Foundation’s
Board of Directors. Mr. Marlette is a member and past Chairman of the
Buffalo Renaissance
Foundation’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the Center
for Governmental Research’s Project Oversight Committee, which conducted
a study on local government consolidation issues. Mr. Marlette is also a
past honoree as one of
Business First of Buffalo "40 Under Forty"
and was named to
Business First of Buffalo's Who's Who in Law List as well as the
Upstate New York “Super Lawyers” in 2007.
Mr. Marlette has made significant contributions to the growth of the
firm through his service as the Vice-Chairperson of the Management
Committee and as a past Chair of the Client Development and Recruitment
Committees.
A lifelong Western New York resident, Mr. Marlette, his wife Helen and
their three children reside in North Buffalo.
