Mr. Willett is a Partner in Damon Morey’s Litigation Department and heads the firm’s Appellate Practice Group. Over his 20-plus years of litigation experience, Mr. Willett has handled hundreds of appeals in both the state and federal appellate courts, including several appearances before New York’s highest court, the Court of Appeals.
In addition to his busy appellate practice, Mr. Willett also handles a wide variety of other litigation-related matters, including insurance coverage disputes, tax certiorari matters, plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation, and an extensive defense litigation practice. Mr. Willett has been involved in numerous civil trials in the New York State Supreme Court, involving claims of medical malpractice, legal malpractice, products liability, construction accidents, motor vehicle negligence, and other general litigation matters.

Prior to coming to Damon Morey, Mr. Willett worked as a confidential law assistant at the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. His responsibilities included preparing legal memoranda regarding issues before the court and drafting appellate court opinions. His experience included matters in a wide range of areas, including criminal law, general negligence, medical and legal malpractice, matrimonial and family law, corporate litigation and Surrogate’s Court matters.
Mr. Willett’s professional memberships include the Erie County, New York State and American Bar Associations. He has written and lectured extensively on various litigation topics.
