Mr. Gioia is Of Counsel at Damon Morey LLP, where he focuses his practice on private equity, general corporate, and business litigation.
Although he practices with and through the firm, Mr. Gioia’s day-to-day focus is in the local business community. Specifically, Mr. Gioia’s full-time efforts are directed towards the development and growth of his private equity search fund, Lorraine Capital, LLC. At Lorraine Capital, Mr. Gioia is actively involved in the analysis, acquisition, and eventual operation of a local business. Outside of Lorraine, Mr. Gioia is also involved in assisting local startup companies and serves as an advisory board member to various startup entities.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gioia served as Confidential Law Clerk to the Honorable William M. Skretny, Chief United States District Court Judge for the Western District of New York. While attending law school, Mr. Gioia worked in the White House, Office of Counsel to the President of the United States, during the administration of George W. Bush. He also served as a summer law clerk to the Honorable Richard J. Arcara, United States District Court Judge for the Western District of New York, as well as the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York.
Mr. Gioia received his B.A. from George Washington University in 2005 and his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, cum laude, in 2008. He is currently pursuing his M.B.A., part-time, at the University of Rochester, Simon School of Business.
