Partners Practice Group of ALFA International

BUFFALO, New York – Damon & Morey is pleased to announce
that Peter S. Marlette, the firm’s Managing Partner, was
elected as the Co-Chair of the Managing Partners Practice Group for
ALFA International.
The Managing Partners Practice Group is responsible for bringing
managing partners of ALFA International law firms together to discuss
ideas and best practices relating to the management of a law firm.
Both Mr. Marlette and fellow Co-Chair Mr. Mark Harty of Morrison
Mahoney in Boston will be coordinating the Law Firm Management seminar
at the Annual Business Meeting in October of 2008.
A Senior Partner in the Litigation Department, Mr. Marlette devotes
a substantial portion of his practice to the defense of high exposure
products liability, toxic substance, and trucking litigation. He also
represents corporations in large commercial litigation and
arbitrations both domestically and internationally. Mr. Marlette
received his B.A. degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree
from Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Marlette is active in a number of charitable and civic
organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the Kaleida Health
Foundation’s Board of Directors. Mr. Marlette is a member and past
Chairman of the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Marlette is also a past honoree as one of Business First of
Buffalo "40 Under Forty" and was named to Business First of Buffalo's
Who's Who in Law List as well as the Upstate New York “Super Lawyers”
in 2007.

Beth Ann Bivona will
serve as a featured panelist at the 23rd Annual
National Conference on Equine Law to
be held in Lexington, Kentucky on April 30 and May 1, 2008.
This conference is the world’s premier
program in equine law instruction. Equine practitioners from over
thirty states discuss critical updates on the law regarding equine
breeding, selling and management.
Ms. Bivona, a Partner at Damon & Morey
LLP, will be discussing the topic, “Causes of Action and Defenses for
Horse Sales Disputes: The Substantive Law.” She is a member of the
firm’s Business Litigation & Insolvency Department and Chair of the
Equine Practice Group. She also serves on the Legal Committee of the
New York State Horse Counsel.
An experienced
equestrian rider, Ms. Bivona’s equine work includes negotiations and
disputes, and litigation. Ms. Bivona assists with the evaluation and
representation of barn owners, horse owners, trainers, riders and
Lessor/Lessee. She advises on agreements to buy, sell and lease a
horse or a riding facility, insurance coverage issues, boarding
contracts, property damage or injuries, employment contracts, and
professional liability issues. Ms. Bivona also assists clients with
corporate questions, including partnerships, incorporations, show
management and the various governing bodies in the sport. The Chair of
the Erie County Bar Association’s Commercial and Bankruptcy Committee,
she dedicates a significant portion of her practice to
businesses and other professional clients on a variety of commercial

Meredith A. Conner and Jennifer G. Flannery Named Damon & Morey
Associates

Jennifer G. Flannery have joined the firm as new Associates.
Meredith
Conner is an Associate at Damon &
Morey, LLP, practicing in the firm’s Real Estate and Banking
Department.
Ms. Conner
received her B.A. degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. She went on to
earn her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the State University of
New York at Buffalo Law School in 2006. While in law school, Ms.
Conner was the executive publications editor of the Buffalo Law
Review and co-student editor-in-chief of the ABA Journal of
Affordable Housing and Community Development Law.
Prior to joining Damon
& Morey, Ms. Conner was an assistant county attorney for the Erie
County Department of Law where she practiced municipal, corporate and
environmental law.
Jennifer Flannery
is an Associate at Damon & Morey, practicing in the firm’s Trust and
Estate and Corporate Departments. Her practice involves trusts and
estate planning and administration, business succession planning, and
corporate matters involving small business and not for profit/public
charity advisement.
Ms. Flannery received
her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton
and went on to receive her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the State
University of New York at Buffalo School of Law.
A frequent lecturer,
Ms. Flannery most recently served as a guest lecturer on Estate
Planning Basics for the New York State Bar Association. In 2006, her
article entitled “Article 81 Enactment: Its Impact on Aging Women” was
published in the Buffalo Women’s Law Journal. Ms. Flannery is
certified with the New York State Office of Court Administration to
receive fiduciary appointments as court evaluator, guardian, guardian
ad litem, receiver, referee and attorney for alleged incapacitated
persons.

and Bernard Schenkler Named Damon & Morey Special Counsel

BUFFALO,
N.Y. – Damon & Morey LLP is pleased to announce that Eric C.
Naegely and Bernard Schenkler have joined the firm as Special Counsel.
Eric
Naegely is a trial attorney in the Firm’s General Litigation
Department. His practice focuses on defending physicians, nurses,
hospitals and nursing homes in civil matters, as well as in defense
matters involving the New York State Education Department and
Department of Health. Additionally, Mr. Naegely has experience in the
areas of sports law and general liability.
Mr. Naegely
received his B.A. degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the
State University of New York at Buffalo where he was selected as one
of the top fifty graduating seniors. He was a member of the Golden Key
National Honor Society, the Mortar Board National Honor Society, and
Phi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. He then went on to earn his J.D.
degree, cum laude, from State University of New York at Buffalo School
of Law, where he was a recipient of the 1998 Robert J. Connolly Award
for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Prior to
joining Damon & Morey, Mr. Naegely was a Program Coordinator for the
Muscular Dystrophy Association of Western New York.
Practicing
in the Business Litigation and Insolvency Department, Bernard
Schenkler’s business litigation experience includes
foreclosure, real estate, municipal law, commercial collection matters
and tenancy actions in federal and state courts. He has also handled
matters involving corporate and partnership dissolution, shareholder
oppression, employee covenants, trade secrets and business torts. He
has represented debtors, creditors and trustees in Chapter 11
bankruptcy reorganizations.

Schenkler is a member of New York, New Jersey and District of Columbia
Bar Associations as well as the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI).
