Team Member Named To The CMS Users Group’s Board of Directors
BUFFALO, NY
– Damon & Morey LLP is pleased to
announce that Bonnie J. Pyzikiewicz was named to the CMS Users
Group’s Board of Directors.
The CMS
Users Group is an international virtual community of over 1,200 users
of CMS Open, a Windows-based practice management and time/billing
system for professional service organizations. Members includes law
firms, accounting firms, consulting firms, actuarial firms,
educational institutions, corporate legal departments, and insurance
companies. In her role as Board Member, she will oversee membership,
address user issues, assess product enhancements recommended by the
user community, and review third-party products that integrate with
Aderant.
Ms.
Pyzikiewicz currently works in Damon & Morey’s Information Technology
Department as the firm’s Aderant Administrator. She also volunteers
as the webmaster for the Buffalo Chapter of the Association of Legal
Administrators. In 2006, she previously served on the Aderant/International
Legal Technology Association Steering Committee.
Ms.
Pyzikiewicz is a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business Institute and
Cheektowaga Central.

Festival
BUFFALO, N.Y.
– Damon & Morey attorneys Michael E.
Marszalkowski, Stephen M. O’Neill, David S. Widenor and Bryan
E. Miller will be featured presenters at the first annual Buffalo
Niagara Film Festival.
The event’s educational seminars will
detail the important legal considerations of the entertainment
industry. Specific presentations to include:
March 28, 2007 - Stephen M. O’Neill will
present Intellectual Property for the Film Writer and Screen Writer.
This session will offer important practical advice on how writers can
protect and profit from their scripts.
March 29, 2007 - Michael E. Marszalkowski
and Bryan E. Miller will present Entertainment Law Musts: Getting
in Writing. Their presentation with highlight the contracts
necessary before filming begins – including Rights Acquisition, Talent
and Services Agreements, and Personal Releases. The discussion will
also cover the filmmaker's responsibilities as an employer, including
compliance with business filings, taxes, labor law, insurance and the
New York State Child Performer Law.
March 29, 2007 - David S. Widenor will
present Business Considerations: Protecting the Filmmaker's
Interest. This session will offer insights on negotiating film
Distribution Agreements as well as the advantages of Security
Agreements.
Mr.
Marszalkowski is Special
Counsel for Damon & Morey LLP where he chairs the firm’s
Immigration Practice Group.
His practice includes matters involving business immigration,
immigrant visas, labor certification, physician waivers, national
interest cases, and family unification. He has developed an
international reputation for expertise in entertainment related
matters. His clients include recording artists, award winning
directors and cameramen in the film and television industry, producers
and engineers in the recording industry, and production, sound and
lighting companies in the entertainment industry.
Mr.
O’Neill is a Partner in the
firm’s
Business Litigation and Insolvency Department
who also co-chairs Damon & Morey’s
Intellectual Property Practice Group.
He works primarily with corporations and professional clients in
complex litigation involving trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade
secrets, unfair competition, non-competition and confidentiality
agreements, insurance coverage, commercial transactions, professional
service contracts, fraud and other business torts.

Widenor is a Senior Litigation
Associate in the firm's
Business Litigation & Insolvency Department.
He has a broad range of experience in domestic and international
commercial and general contract law, business and bank law, antitrust,
SEC, patent litigation, and business torts.
Mr.
Miller is an Associate in the
firm’s
Labor and Employment Department.
He represents both public and private
employers in matters involving employment discrimination issues (under
Title VII, FMLA, ADEA, ADA, NYS Human Rights Law), wage and hour
issues and labor relations issues.

FILM FESTIVAL is a week long international film festival. The
event is open to the public, filmmakers, and entertainment industry
professionals and will take place from March 26 - 31, 2007 at various
venues around the Buffalo-Niagara region. The BNFF is an opportunity
to showcase creative writing, film and video arts - both locally and
from around the world.
