Four Damon Morey Attorneys Named Partner
 
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Damon & Morey LLP is pleased to announce that Gregory Zini, Heidi Brauer Ruchala, Jeffery D. Palumbo and Eric C. Naegley have been named Partners.

Gregory Zini concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. He works primarily with corporations and professional clients in complex litigation involving commercial transactions, corporate governance, dissolution of business entities, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, franchise litigation, unfair competition, trademark infringement, fraud, and other business torts.

An active member of the Firm’s Construction Practice Group, Mr. Zini also represents general contractors and subcontractors in a variety of construction litigation matters. Additionally, he advises and represents landlords and tenants with respect to commercial leasing disputes.

Mr. Zini received a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1993, and a J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1997. While in law school, he was Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Tulsa Law Journal (1996-1997).

Mr. Zini is a member of the New York Bar Association.

Heidi Brauer Ruchala devotes a substantial portion of her practice to the defense of personal injury, products liability, toxic substance, sports and recreation liability and trucking litigation in both state and federal courts.

As a member of the Litigation Department, Ms. Ruchala has significant experience in defending numerous corporate clients involved in asbestos, benzene and beryllium litigation. She also defends a number of organizations around the state involved with the care and placement of developmentally disabled youths and adults.

Ms. Ruchala is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, cum laude, and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, cum laude. She is involved in the Erie County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Western New York and civic organizations in both Erie and Niagara Counties.

With over 20 years experience, Jeffery Palumbo concentrates his practice on a wide variety of environmental and real estate issues, including real estate development, land use planning, use and area variances, zonings, site plan and subdivision approvals, residential and commercial sales, State regulatory procedures, as well as various other real estate related matters.

Mr. Palumbo is the Past President of the Buffalo Niagara Builders Association. He is also a former member of the New York State Builders Association, where he served on the Industry Task Force. In this capacity, he was deeply involved with the state and federal regulations involving wetlands as well as numerous other industry issues.

Recently named to Business First of Buffalo's “Who's Who in Law List”, Mr. Palumbo is a member of both the New York State Bar Association and California Bar Association. He is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County, where he participates in the organization’s Environmental Law and Real Estate Law Committees.

Mr. Palumbo earned his B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his J.D. degree from Pepperdine University in 1980.

Eric C. Naegely focuses his practice on defense matters involving physicians, nurses, hospitals and nursing homes in civil matters as well as the New York State Education Department and Department of Health. Additionally, Mr. Naegely has experience in the areas of sports law and general liability.

Mr. Naegely received his B.A. degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he was selected as one of the top fifty graduating seniors. He then went on to earn his J.D. degree, cum laude, from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was a recipient of the 1998 Robert J. Connolly Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Naegely is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County and the New York State Bar Association. His publications include “Telemedicine: Will Technology Expand Medical Liability” and the New York portion of the American Law Firm Association Transportation Compendium. Additionally, he has been a lecturer for Lorman Education Services and various clients.
